I noticed a bee in peril today,
When passing a pond,
And to my dismay…
Saw it’s fluttering wings
In a sign of distress,
Struggling to get out
Of it’s watery mess.
Feeling bad for the bee,
I found a big leaf
To place under its body,
Helping it to its feet.
Then I laid it aside,
While it gathered its pride,
Until it finally was able
To once again, fly.
Now, saving a bee,
Which caught my attention,
To some is a task,
Too meager to mention.
Yet, bees have a purpose
Here to us all;
They pollinate our flowers
And our plants, big and small.
And we all have a purpose.
We all have a worth.
We all work together
On this planet, called Earth.
So, the next time a bee
Needs your help, just recall –
That a life’s still a ‘life’,
No matter how small.
