I detected a squirrel
In the tree today
Who suddenly stopped
In the midst of his play
And on a whim
Came down to a limb
To stare without delay
Well needless to mention
Since he had my attention
A monologue from me commenced
And though I contend
I had just made a friend
He then hurriedly disappeared down the fence.
